the road ahead · a preview
Every player climbs a ladder of eight rungs. After the first, you pick one of four paths, and each path has its own version of every rung. The ladder runs on six canvases, from a cul-de-sac suburb to Washington, and each swaps in the bodies and fights of its own kind of place. 86 actions in all. Pick a canvas to see the game the way someone who lives there would.
✦ marks a door for people who already work in government.
Twelve small things for the nights the work gets heavy. On every canvas, at every rung.
Rungs are the levels of the game. Rungs 1 through 5 are local, and every canvas has its own version of them. Rungs 6 through 8 are shared: whoever gets that far meets the same ladder, wherever they started. Anything unlocked stays open, and a visitor can join most actions on any canvas, framed from where they actually live.
People who work for a government have a few extra lines to respect on the way up. In California, for one, campaign work stays off the clock and off public equipment. The game flags it when you get there.
A preview, not a promise: the plan for what gets built, drawn from a researched roster. Each action gets its receipts page when it ships.
To send someone straight to one canvas, add it to the end of the link: /roadmap#cuts or /roadmap#town for Nevada County, /roadmap#city for San Francisco. A single action works the same way, for example /roadmap#w.the-pilot.
